Few tips how to choose perfect sofa

Nowdays, there is so many products on the market that you have almost endless choice. This same applies if you want to buy new sofa. You might think you know exactly what you want, but once you walk into a shop or browse images online all that options can become overwhelming. Here is our short guide that will help you choose right.

First of all consider size of the sofa. If you have a bigger living room, you'll need to decide exactly how much of the space you want to fill. Do you want to have chairs or maybe coffee table in your living room? If so, a simple sofa or one with L-shape is probably the best fit. On the other hand, if you're looking for a sofa that will be the focal point of your room, look for rounder couch shapes.

If you have a smaller room, you will probably need a smaller sofa. With less space, any sofa will be in the spotlight. Because of that you want to choose something that is practical, but also has unique design.

Next very important thing - you need to decide how the sofa will be oriented. Ask yourself those questions: What do you do the most in that space? Do you like to sit down in front of the TV? If so make sure your sofa faces that direction. Love hosting game or wine nights? Create a semi circle around a central table.

Furthermore, you need to determine which shape will suit the room best. Now that you've decided your sofa's function, it's time to figure out which shape will help it fulfill that purpose. A clean L-shape sofa is great if you want  to divide the space and separate the living room from the dining room.

Moreover it's good idea to research upholstery materials. Which will be best for you? Design is important, but functionality is the most important thing when it comes to choosing a material for your sofa. Maybe you are tempted to buy white suede sofa, because it looks so good, but be aware that such sofa is also very dangerous. Suede can be a poor choice if you have pets or small children in home. Then you can choose leather as it is consistently in style, generally wears well with age, and can be fairly easy to clean. Just remember to pick up darker colors.

Timeless home design - decorating tips

Season trends come and go so if you want to achive timeless decor design in your home here is our quick guide how to do it.

First of all try to stick to a muted color palette. With a restricted palette, colors are no longer the most important thing and are just a background for furnishings and the accessories which take center stage.

Another tip to achive timeless decor design is to arrange small pictures on a dresser. Small pictures look like visual noise on a wall, and they can pump up the personality of an otherwise ho-hum table. To unify a collection of photographs, use frames of the same material and size.

Moreover try to top carpeting with an area rug. Layering rugs, like layering clothes, adds texture, color, and dimension. For the best results, start with a tightly woven, low-pile carpet or sisal in a solid tone

Next, buy only functional furniture. As chic as that angular chair with a bucket seat looks in the magazine, don't buy something on which you can't comfortably sit. The same goes for coffee tables and shelves. Buy furniture that are meant to be used, not just admired from afar.

Furthermore, remember to cluster similar colors together. Colors from a single family blend effortlessly. Pick a color you like and stick with its variations. If you love blue, for example, paint walls and choose curtains in a navy color. Punch up the palette with a brighter sofa. Accessorize with a lilac patterned rug, cloudy prints featuring different shades of blue.

And last advice - remember about the flooring. Solid wood floors have been a popular addition throughout the home for many years and can perfectly complement a wide range of styles so they are for sure timeless.

How to create the perfect bonus room from your basement

Even if it's currently cold concrete and crammed with boxes of off-season duds, the lowest floor of your home probably has loads of potential. Treat your basement just as you would any of the rooms aboveground, and it might just become the most popular spot in the house. Here's our advice for turning basement into a place you'll be eager to spend time in.

First some ideas what your basement could become.  For example you can turn it into extra TV room or kids play room. Sometimes it is nice to have TV that the kids can control, playing their favorite shows and using it for video games. You just need to install simple TV cabinet and comfy sofa and your new room will be set.

Another idea is to turn it into movie theater. If your family love watching movies, basement is a perfect space to outfit with the latest technology, surround sound, subwoofers, and comfy chairs. Go all out and you’ll never actually have to go out for a movie again!

To create a home theatre you must allow sufficient distance between the armchairs and the screen. Lighting is less important here, but comfortable seating is essential. Remember also that you will need to hide the unsightly cables of your various pieces of equipment, and you may also want to consider soundproofing the room.

Last but not least you can turn basement into guest suite. Your guests will enjoy having their own space to retreat to without feeling like they are in the middle of a busy household. You just need to buy some chairs and table for your guest to sit and relax. Outfit the space with a luxurious bath, and on a dark, snowy night with no guests, you can sneak down for a bubble bath yourself.

Remember that color you choose - it have to match well with rest of the suite. Whether you want something neutral or something that will scream look at me, there will be something to suit you.

This universal colour could be a great addition to your bathroom suite. But white doesn't mean only one color - there are many shades available, from the brilliant, shiny whites through to the creams, ivories and off-whites. If you are matching white bathroom furniture with vivid colour, you should go with neutral, plain, bright white. This will help show other colours beautifully, creating a contrast between them.

Wooden
If your bathroom fixtures are an off-white, then teaming these with a bright white may create a clash of shades. If the walls are a creamy, then you should avoid matching bright whites altogether. It would be better to match shades perfectly or opting for something completely different. In this case wooden bathroom furniture may be a way to go.

Wooden fixtures could well be referred as shabby chic so if you’re looking to give your bathroom  that Victorian appeal, wooden furniture are perfect. Such style very often includes roll-top baths, ornate mirrors and an off-white appearance.

Bathroom furniture are also available in really striking colours and when you paired them with a more neutral background, they can stand out beautifully. Blues and reds will match a white background nicely. If you want to achive modern look you can choose glossy black bathroom furniture. Black and white make perfect combo.

bathroom style - traditional or contemporary - a quick guide

Contemporary and traditional are 2 of the most popular styles of bathroom suites available. First combines sharp lines with soft curves to create something minimal and modern where the other one is similar to Victorians style. Both styles can make your bathroom look marvelous. A mixture of styles is also great thing if it is done well, but simple solution is to choose one style and stick to it.

Traditional style

Your bathroom furniture should evoke a feel of a former time. Your storage units and cabinets can match this perfectly, especially the freestanding cabinets with inset basins. You could also try to achive a shabby chic look by using traditional bathroom furniture, with good quality, rustic-looking cabinets that are practical and aesthetical.

For traditional bathroom suite best option can be freestanding cabinets. Resting slightly off the ground on four feet, these look great with an inset basin, paired with twisty, period-effect taps. If we talking about color - traditional look require subtle colours. Moreover patterned tiles or ones in a vibrant shade will also contrast subtle furniture very nicely.

Traditional bathroom furniture are also a little bit modern becasue of used materials. All units are made well to withstand the heat and humidity of a bathroom suite not like the original "traditional" ones. This is a luxury that gives you buying traditional furniture nowdays.

Contemporary style

Many people like more a sleek and modern looking bathroom oposite to the traditional look. From square basins to wet rooms, modern bathroom fixtures can evoke the feel of a spa where you can relax and rest.

If this is the look you are going for, then there are plenty of bathroom furniture options. These units are usually quite angular,  creating sharp lines that flow around the room.

Drawers are often soft-closing with bolder colours oposite to traditional furniture. Shelving and wall-mounted box-style units are typical here, as well as square taps and basins.

Just like traditional furniture, contemporary furnitures are also water-resistant to prevent damp and condensation having an adverse effect. Both styles can be as space-saving if you have small bathroom.

Increasing storage space in bathroom - tips and tricks

One of the most important aspect of bathroom planning is storage. This is can be problematic in small bathrooms and in case of contemporary and traditional style bathrooms. No matter what style of bathroom you choose, you’re going to need somewhere to store everything - like towels, soap and cleaning equipment. Here are some tips to increase bathroom storage.

First of all - use your wall space. Bathrooms can be especially tricky for storage, because almost all limited floor space is already used for things like door openings and sanitary ware. This problem gets very serious in small bathrooms, where space is especially limited. Remember, that no matter how big is your bathroom, you can always use walls for additional storage.

Wall space is perfect for storage solutions. Things like bathroom cabinet or clever shelvs can be great way to store various items in bathroom. Shelves are a great place for keeping things like towels, since they will be kept tidy and you can easily access them.

Another way to create storage is to use cupboards. If you’re fitting cupboards to a wall, it’s generally recommended to just fit them to one wall. This line of thinking is similar to the dedicated storage wall solution  as this prevents the room from feeling too cluttered and chaotic.

As a alternative to placing various shelves and cupboards in bathroom, you can create some storage space by using a dedicated wall. This will eliminate the chaotic feel of your bathroom design.

If you think that you are good in interior design then you can use a combination of shelves and small drawer units to create a stylish feature. Moreover, you can also use open shelf racks to store folded towels, and hooks to hang for example bath robes.

How to make your bedroom the coziest place on Earth

You can buy the most expensive furniture for your bedroom but the place can still not be so great as you imagine it. The trick is to create a cozy vibe so you will want to spend every minute in that room. Here are some tips how to do it.

First of all, hang string lights above your bed to add a little magic. Hanging the lights behind a sheet or thin curtain helps make your room feel like a wonderfull place.

Next thing - skip the top sheet and just put a nice washable duvet cover on your comforter. Sleeping top-sheetless feels very luxurious. It also means making the bed is basically zero work. Also throw down an extra fuzzy bedside rug to make things easier for your feet in the morning.

Remember to make your bed every day. It doesn’t have to be perfect, just do it. You’ll feel like you’re in a hotel, but the hotel is free, and you’re the only guest! If you’re not feeling motivated, you can reward yourself with an candy or something every time you make the bed.

Finally, invest in a lighting. Nice bedside lamp is a way to go. You never again have to get up to turn off the overhead light. Also light makes such a huge difference in the feel of a space. Add some low, soft lighting to your bedroom. Be sure to pick bulbs with warm tones, too.

Picking ideal coffee table - few tips

A living room without a coffee table is a lot like a sport car without wheels. Just as wheels are vital part of car, perfect coffee table is a very important thing in your living room. Coffee tables serve several purposes. From completing a look, to storage and display they are much needed in a space. The main question is which style will work for your room. Should you go with a wood one or metallic with a glass top? Square or rectangular? Tips bellow will help you chose perfect coffee table.

First - the budget
The price for a coffee table can range from expensive to very budget friendly, so before you start shopping know what budget you have. Your overall budget should be broken down to into areas such as, accessories, lighting and furniture. The furniture line item includes the sofa, side tables, chairs and coffee table, with a larger portion allocated to the bigger pieces.

Next - chose the shape
Think about the best shape for the space for your living room. Do you have children or pets? Is it a large room or is it small? A round or oval coffee table is ideal if you have children or pets. The curved edge means a sharp corner injures if one falls or bumps into it. Using a rectangular shape and allowing 30 inches between the TV console and the coffee table will give you the right amount of room to walk between.

A proper size
As with shape, you will need to determine the size you need. The height of a coffee table is important. It should be no lower than 1-2 inches from the seat of your couch. The standard height for a table is 16-18 inches and pairs well with a typical sized couch. A higher sofa requires a taller table.

How to match furniture color with walls in your house? Home decoration tips

It may seems that matching wall color to furniture color is a tricky thing to do - but if you remember about few basic tips you don't have to stress about it so much. Here are a few steps to make sure whichever room you're decorating looks stylish and marvelous.

Chose proper color of paint

First of all assess your furniture.
Take your favorite component of a furniture set, and make that the starting point for the color scheme that will be used in the room. If the furniture has a solid color, use the color family to choose which color to paint the walls. Remember to make sure that you don't use exactly the same color as it will make your room look boring.

MODERN SET FURNITURE DINO

If your piece of furniture contains a pattern, choose the color family from the dominant contrasting color or look for a color that is used sparingly and take your wall color from that family. By doing this the furniture color is tied to the color of the walls nicely without being too obvious.

You may have heard the old rule about decorating small rooms with light colors and larger rooms with dark colors. While you should probably stick to this, one accent wall of a single dark color can be very striking. If your furniture color is dark, decide whether you want to mimic that shade on your walls or go for more neutral shades so that the colors in your furniture contrast nicely.

HALLWAY SET CLIP PORTO

If you have picked a color for your wall that complements your furniture but are worried that it might be too loud or too excessive for four walls, you can combine the color and a more muted tone of the same hue to make your walls and furniture coordinate. Use the brighter color on just one wall as an accent.

Color wheel

Finishing touch
When your walls are painted, you can start to stage your room with more furniture, soft furnishings and even painting that features the same color family. Don't be afraid to mix patterns and textures - due to the matching color palette that ties everything it won't feel disjointed or weird.
